Pokemon Snap

  • Arcanine

Throw Pester Balls in the pits across from Charmeleon in the Volcano level. It appears less frequently then Growlithe. Get a photograph while it is shaking embers off its body for more points.

  • Articuno

Go to the Cave level and follow it almost to the end. Then when you see the Jynxs play the Poké Flute. The Jynxs will perform a ritual dance, and the ice egg will float in the air and hatch into Articuno.

  • Bulbasaur

In addition to the two Bulbasaurs in the craters in the River level, there is another hidden in a nearby log. Throw an apple near the log's opening and it will appear.

  • Chansey

Throw a Pester Ball at the ball that Eevee is chasing in the Beach level and Chansey will appear.

  • Charizard

Go to the Volcano level and follow it almost to the end. Then, throw an apple at the Charmeleon that is near the lava pool. It will evolve into a Charizard after being knocked into the lava.

  • Charmander

Get stuck behind Moltres' egg in the Volcano level and look left to see two Charmanders. Then, throw an apple at both of them and they will roar to call more Charmanders to join them. You can get almost ten Charmanders in the same photograph for extra points.

  • Charmeleon

Throw an apple between the Charmander and the Magmar in the Volcano level. Then the Magmar will run up and blow fire at the Charmander, causing it to evolve into Charmeleon.

  • Cloyster

Take photographs and throw Pester Balls at the Shellders in the River level. If done correctly, a Cloyster will appear later in the level.

  • Diglett

Diglett appears on the left side of the Tunnel level, next to a Pikachu.

  • Ditto

The three Bulbasaurs at the beginning of the Cave level are really Dittos. Throw some Pester Balls at them to change them back into their true form.

  • Dratini

Throw Pester Balls to the left of the whirlpool in the Valley level.

  • Dragonite

Throw Pester Balls into the whirlpool in the Valley level.

  • Dugtrio

Keep taking pictures of Diglett in the Tunnel level. Then, Pikachu will move to the next place that it will appear. Eventually, Dugtrio will appear instead of Diglett.

  • Electabuzz

Look to the right in the middle of the Tunnel level to see Electabuzzs standing in front of large screens. Throw apples at one of them and it will approach and use a Thundershock attack. Take a photograph while it is emitting energy for extra points.

  • Electrode

Throw a Pester Ball at the non-moving Electrode in the Tunnel level. It will self-destruct for a better photograph.

  • Geodude

Throw a Pester Ball in the Valley level to knock down the Geodudes for a better photograph.

  • Goldeen

Throw a Pester Ball in front of the first Mankey, between Magikarp and Dratini in the Valley level. Then a Goldeen will jump out of the water.

  • Graveler

Play the Poké Flute at the location in the Valley level that has three Gravelers. They will wake up and dance for a photograph that is worth more points.

  • Grimmer

To get a great photograph of a Grimmer in the Cave level, take pictures of the first two Grimmers to make the third Grimmer appear closer, and the fourth Grimmer appear even closer.

  • Growlithe

Throw Pester Balls in the pits across from Charmeleon in the Volcano level. Get a photograph while it is shaking embers off its body for more points.

Throw a Pester Ball into all three volcanoes in the Volcano level. Then, throw apples close to the path. All three Growlithes will run to the apples. Take as many photos as possible of all three Growlithes for more points.

  • Gyarados

Go to the Valley level and hit the Magikarp that is in the water in front of the first Mankey. Then, Mankey will hit it over the mountain and onto land. Later, when you are in front of the three Gravelers, hit the Magikarp with a Pester Ball. Magikarp will go over to the waterfall and evolve into Gyarados.

  • Haunter

Take a photograph of the purplish mist in the first part of the Tunnel level. Then a Haunter will appear when the photograph is developed.

  • Jigglypuff

Save the three Jigglypuffs in the Cave level. Then, all three will re-appear at the end of the level singing the famous Jigglypuff song, allowing a photograph worth extra points.

  • Lapras

Play the Poké Flute near the shore of the Beach level for a good shot of Lapras.

Face towards the left of the shore line at the Beach level and watch it closely. Take a photograph of the Lapras whenever they appear, no matter what the quality. When approaching the Kangaskan, look towards the water and a Lapras will emerge from the water. This is the best place to photograph the Lapras in the level.

  • Magmar

Get a photograph of the two Magar blowing fire in the Volcano level for more points. Get a photograph of fighting Magmar for 800 extra points.

  • Mankey

Mankeys are found out in the open in the Valley level.

  • Magnemite

Throw an apple right in front of the Magnemite in the Tunnel level. It will then stop its sonic wave and become photographable.

  • Magneton

Throw apples at each of the three Magnemites in the Tunnel level to lure them together and evolve into Magneton.

  • Meowth

Play the Poké Flute in front of Meowth in the Beach level to make it dance for a better photograph.

At the end of the Beach level there are two Pidgey flying after Meowth. Watch them as they go off to the right side, as they will execute a gust attack to knock Meowth down. Hit the Pidgey with apples and they will fly away, leaving Meowth to dance for a photograph worth more points.

  • Metapod

Throw Pester Balls at the Metapods in the Cave level and they will drop down for a close-up.

  • Mew

Use the following technique to get an easier photograph of Mew. Once in the Rainbow level, pop Mew's energy shield by throwing Pester Balls at it. Then, use the Dash Engine to keep up with Mew for a minute, then snap away when he turns around to look at you. This must be done quickly before he returns inside the energy shield.

Another technique is to hit Mew with a Pester Ball while it is chasing the energy shield. It will start spinning in place for a few seconds before disappearing. To keep it from disappearing, keep throwing Pester Balls at it. Do this through the whole level to keep Mew in front of you the entire time.

After the second time Mew flies at you in its energy shield, turn your camera to the left and up slightly. When Mew flies by it immediately does flips. Take a close-up of it in the classic curl position while its whole body is towards you, with the light behind it. This results in a photograph worth over 8000 points.

  • Moltres

Go to the Volcano level and follow the path until reaching an egg in the middle of the road. Then, throw an apple at the egg to make it fall into the lava and Moltres will appear. Note: Wait for it to face you for additional points.

  • Muk

Shoot Pester Ball at the Grimmer in the Cave level to evolve it into a Muk.

  • Pikachu

Play the Poké Flute in front of Pikachu in the Beach level to have it use a Thundershock attack for a better photograph.

Throw a Pester Ball at the Zubat that is carrying Pikachu in the Cave level. Pikachu will come down attached to balloons. Next, it will run over to where Articuno is found. Release Articuno with the Poké Flute. Then when approaching the end of the level, look behind to see Pikachu riding on Articuno.

Throw apples towards the Surf Board in the Beach level immediately after seeing Pikachu to have it pose on the board, including backflips.

After flushing Scyther out in the Beach level, two Pikachu will dash out and jump up on stumps. Play the Poké Flute and they will start zapping. The photo of Pikachu on a stump with a Thundershock is worth a lot of extra points.

Take a photograph of the first Pikachu that appears at the beginning of the Tunnel level. He will run backwards. Take another picture of the Pikachu and he will jump on Electrode. Take a photograph of that scene for extra points.

Get a photograph of Pikachu on a ball for 500 extra points. Get a photograph of surfing Pikachu for 900 extra points. Get a photograph of Pikachu on a stump for 2500 extra points.

  • Porygon

Go past Vileplume's location in River level. Pass the Metapods, then look right when you see Psyduck near a lot of logs. Hit the wood-appearing objects that are flying around with a Pester Ball and Porygon will appear. Hit it with another Pester Ball and it will change into its original colors.

  • Rapidash

After the first Rapidash runs by on the Volcano level, two more will appear on the right. Throw an apple at them and they will start reigning. You can get more points for your photograph while they are on their hind legs, because of their size, and since there are two of them.

  • Sandshrew

Hit a Geodude down with a Pester Ball in the Valley level and Sandshrew will appear from the ground.

  • Sandslash

Look towards the first Mankey near the beginning of the Valley level. Something that resembles a Kadabra will appear further down the level. It is actually a Sandslash. Take a photograph of it when it goes into the ground for more points.

Get to the area in the Valley level where Sandslash, Graveller and two Geodudes can be found. After they hide, throw Pester Balls at the two Geodudes. After they fall, Graveller will follow. When it hits the ground, Sandslash will pop out. You can get a nice close-up of it as it appears for more points.

  • Shellder

A group of four Shellders can be photographed near the Slowpoke area in the River level.

  • Slowbro

Throw apples at the Slowpokes that appear near the wooden Shellder sign in the River level. Then, lead them to the mud spot next to the sign. The Slowpokes will put their tail into the water evolve into Slowbros after hitting the Shellders.

  • Slowpoke

Throw apples near the wooden Shellder sign in the River level to attract a group of Slowpokes.

  • Snorlax

Play the Poké Flute in front of Snorlax in the Beach level to wake it up for a better photograph.

  • Squirtle

The little bumps in the water at the start of the Valley level are Squirtle shells. Throw Pester Balls at them and they will shoot onto land. Then you can take close-up photographs, without them fleeing like the other Squirtles.

  • Starmie

Take a photograph of Staryu in the center of the Valley level. Then its gem will turn blue and it will begin to circle you until the whirlpool appears. Staryu will enter the whirlpool and come out as Starmie.

  • Staryu

Staryu appears above the water in the Valley level.

  • Sycther

Throw Pester Balls in the tall grass in the Beach level.

  • Weapinbell

This Pokémon can be found in the Cave level.

  • Victreebel

Go to the end of the Cave level, until finding a Weapinbell flying around a pool of water. Knock it into the water to evolve it into Victreebel.

  • Vileplume

Go to where a lot of green smoke is coming out of a flower top in the River level. Play the Poké Flute and Vileplume will come out and dance. Press C-Down again to see a different dance. This may be done again until all four dances are seen.

  • Zapdos

Go to the Tunnel level. Then just after the first door you will see a Pikachu next to a large egg in the distance. Throw some apples to lure the Pikachu closer to the egg. When Pikachu gets close enough, play the Poké Flute. Pikachu will start a Thundershock attack and zap the egg. The egg will hatch and Zapdos will appear. Note: You will need Zapdos to shock the generator if you want the Pokémon sign.

  • Zubat

Every time a steel door opens in the Tunnel level, a Zubat will appear.

  • Finding the six Pokémon signs

After completing the Valley level by hitting the Mankey on the switch, Professor Oak will tell you to take photographs. Here are their locations:

      Kingler

On the Beach level, after passing Pikachu, turn around and take a photograph of the rock with seaweed that resembles a crab.

      Pinsir

In the Tunnel, wait until Zapdos has hatched and turns on the power. Then when you pass the Electabuzzes and Pikachu, look to your right to see Pinsir's shadow on the wall.

      Koffing

In the Volcano level, throw a Pester Ball into the small volcano to the left of the first Rapidash that appears. Then, smoke in the shape of Koffing will appear.

      Cubone

In the River level, play the Poké Flute in front of the sleeping Vileplume. Then the smoke will disappear and a tree in the shape of Cubone will appear.

      Mewtwo

In the Cave level, after hitting the two Koffings chasing Jigglypuff with apples, turn around to the left while near Weepinbell to see some bright crystals/stars. Then, take a photograph and it will turn out to be Mewtwo.

      Dugtrio

In the start of the Valley level, take a photograph of the mountain behind the Mankey.

  • Unlock the Volcano level

Throw Pester Balls at the last Electrode in the Tunnel level, near the exit gate. It will then self-destruct and open a path to the Volcano level.

  • Unlock the Rainbow level

Successfully complete the Valley level and take photographs of all six Pokémon signs. Then, Professor Oak will open the Rainbow level with Mew. It is very hard to capture, but is worth a lot of points.

  • View ending sequence

Successfully take photographs of all Pokémon in the game and unlock all the levels. Then after saving the game an ending sequence featuring the photographs you captured will begin.

surfboard it'll be there for a good close-up.Can earn 5000-6000 points here!
3.Knock the Meowths to make them dizzy (not much points)
    4. Throw apples at Kangaskhan at the end of the level to make it face you.

them to pose on the tree stumps. More points if you can get both Pikachus in the same photo. Easily 6000 points here!
    4. Bomb the white puff being chased by Evee to turn it into Chansey (fat Pokemon with an egg in its pouch)

Camera with apples, smoke-bomb and flute

    2. Bomb Snorlax to wake it up and immediately play the flute to make him
    dance for you.
    3. Bomb Meotch on the hill as in 6.2.4.2 but this time play the flute to
make him dance on the ground instead of its usual prancing.
4.Keep playing the flute to lure the Lapras closer. If you keep doing that
and throw the occasional bombs in the sea -- they should appear very close
at the cove near Kangaskhan. In fact both Lapras will sway to the tune of
    the flute. Shockingly close!

    THE TUNNEL

    General

Progress Type : Activating a switch at the end of the level. Throw the bomb at the lone Voltrob just before  the end of the level to make it explode and open up Lava Pit. You need an apple first before you can do this. Keep playing and Dr  Okido will eventually give you some. The faster you get decent scores, the faster you get your apples.

    What can be found

    3 Pikachus
    3 Electabuzzs (tigers!)
3 Recoils / Magnemites (shy floating balls that recoil when u aim the camera)

    1 Magikarp

    Just Camera

taking its photo early. With every shot it will move forward and eventually
    climb on a Voltorb.
    2. 3 Voltorbs.
    3. 1 Electabuzz
    4. Many Kakunas. You can't get a good shot without the apples.
    5. 1 static Voltorb to your left just before the First Door. Easy 4,000
    points here.

    First Door

    1. 1 Zubat. Flying straight at ya!

    2. 1 Pikachu playing with 1 Diglett and Dugtrio. Depending on your focus --

    3. 2 Electabuzzs. Dont bother taking shots cos they're too far away.
    4. 1 Voltorb to your right just before the end of the Level
    5.  Recoils. Again no point without your items.

Camera, apples, smoke bomb and flute

    Outside

    1. Close up on a Kakuna -Slow down the first Electtabuzz by throwing apples
at it. This enables the Kakunas to slide down from the ceiling for a good
close-up. Otherwise it'd be too afraid of the Electabuzz.

    First Door

    1. Zapdos (bird) - Lure Pikachu towards the Egg with apples. When it gets

hatch the egg. This bird will trigger the projection screen at the next
    room.

    Second Door

    1. Close-up on the Electabuzzs - throw apples on their heads to make it face
    you and get close

your right just after the 2 Electabuzzes.
    3. Throw apples at the final Voltorb to open Lava Pit environment.
    4. Throw apples at the Recoils to make them pose for you.

    THE LAVA PIT

    General

Progress Type : Earn points. No switches.
    What can be found

5 Ponytas (flaming horses : 3 coming at you and 2 at the crater)
    3 Vulpix
    3 Magmars
    2 Charmeleons
    At least 8 Charmeleons
    2 Charmanders
    1 Charizard (hidden)
    1 Moltres (majestic-looking bird)
    2 Arcanine (hidden)
    1 Grolith (hidden)

    Just Camera
By the time you get here - you would already have earned your apples.

    Camera and apples

    1. Prancing Ponyta -- throw an apple in front of them to make them pause and
    prance.
    2. Lure the 3 Vulpix together with apples to get a good picture. Dont throw
at it -- aim at a location where you want them to congregate.
    3. 1 Charmander & 1 Magmar. Improvise on every visit. Throw apples to make
the the Ugly Red Thingie burn the
Charmander to turn it into Charmeleon. Or lure the Charmander to the extreme
right with food -- it jumps up in elation once fed. Good points for an
    action photo.
    4. Knock the Charmeleon into the lava pool at the very end of the level. It
will turn into a Charizard! Once it does throw apples at it and it will
    spit flames!

6.4.2 Camera, apples, smoke bomb and flute

    1. Pokemon Sign 3#.
    2. Get stuck behind the egg that blocks your path. Lure the Charmeleons on
your left by throwing apples. You can lure about 10 in all. When they are in
a bunch -- lure them towards you with more apples. Knock them on their heads
with items and they will start "roaring" at you! And when u get the flute --
repeat the same process and when they are close play the flute. All of them
will do a synchronised dance. Very cute!
    3. Towards the end of the level you will see three small craters on your
right. Smoke bomb each crater (have to be quick) to lure out Grolith and two
    Arcanines.

    THE RIVER

     General

Progress Type : Activating a switch. Throw the bomb at hill-side where a
sharp pointy nose is visible just behind the switch. A Porygon will burrow
    out and activate it.

    Quick Tips.

    1. Use bombs to chase the Poliwags (blue creatures with a bullseye symbol on
their tummies) on the right bank of the river to go forward. Once they hit
the clearing -- throw apples and they will start scurrying towards you and
dive into the river. I only managed to get 3 Poliwags to do so
simultaneously but i think 4 is possible.
    2. On the left bank -- look for 3 green Bulbasaurs : 2 hidden in a trunk
(you can just see their tops) and one hiding in a fallen log. Bomb the 2 in
the trunk to make them jump out and lure the one in the log with apples. Get
all 3 in one good shot and there will be plenty of points.
    3. You can make the green Metapods slide down from their perch by throwing
bombs at it. Try and make the final
Metapod block your path so that you can turn 180 degrees and have time to
compose a good group shot of the previous Metapods.
    4. 2 Slowpokes (pink creatures)on the left bank. They dont react well to any
forms of stimulation. I found that the best points are taken when they stand
on their hind legs and moan (yawn?). They do it automatically so dont throw
    anything! Just wait ..
    5. To get Slowbro, throw apples to the right of the 2 Slowpokes to make them
go to the brown patch. Once there they will stick their tails in the water
to fish out Cloysters which will clamp on the them and turn them Slowbros.
    6. With the flute you can make the smoking red plant on your right dance.
    7. There are 2 Porygons near the switch -- one green and one brown. The
green one is harder to see but it's found at the leafy green banks. Look for
    a green pointy nose.

    THE ICE CAVE

    General

Progress Type : Earn enough points. If  you don't repeat some of the
levels until you do. The next level will open
automatically. There are no hidden switches.

    Quick Tips

    1. The green Bulbasaurs turn into Dittos (pink slimer) when you bomb them.
    2. You can get a good shot of the Grimers (ash coloured slimers) appearing
to your right when you start the stage by using the Dash Engine. You can get
real close to the third Grimer
    3. Save the 3 Pink Jigglypuffs being chased by the Koffings. Save all three
and they will sing to you at the end of the level. Absolutely adorable with
    their cute voices and all!
    4. Knock the Weepinbell (yellow Pokemon that is bouncing around a pool of
water) into the pool. It will transform into Victreebel.
    5. The Flute will make the two Jynx's dance and hatch Artucino. Don't be too
sidetracked by Artucino and forget to take the photos of the 2 Jynx's as
    well.
    6. You can knock the Zubat that has a Pikachu in its clutches. Afterwards a
    Pikachu on balloons will appear!

      THE RAPIDS

    General

Progress Type : Activating a switch at the end of the level. You will see 3
Squirtles (shelled pokemons) and a monkey at the top of a hill at the bend
just before where the switch is located.  The key is to smoke bomb the last
Squirtle ie. left most. Wait till it floats by and when it is in the right
part of your screen : smoke bomb him to make him scamper up the hill and
knock the monkey over. Now bomb the said monkey on the other side and he'll
stomp on the switch. Once you clear this level a scene will transpire
telling you of the Pokemon Signs. Start on a previous environment and you
should be getting the Dash Engine and Flute.

    Quick Tips

    1. Immediately at the start of the stage bombard the water in front of you
with bombs. You will see 3 Squirtles appearing underneath the water's
surface. Try to bomb them out of the water either to the left bank or the
right bank. Once they're there -- attract them with apples and get them
together for a group shot. Try not to him the apples at them cos it'll make
them dizzy and hence gives them less time to pose for you.
    2. Knock the 3 Geodudes clinging to the cliff on your right with bombs to
make 3 Sandslash come out. Experiment on single shots -- take it when the
Sandslash are in mid - air as they burrow out of the ground for good points.
Alternatively get them all to burrow out quickly and get a group shot.
    2. Knock the 2 clinging Geodudes on the left bank of the river to make the
Graveler (Rock-like Pokemon) fall down. Try to take pic of the Graveler as
it is falling down for an action shot. A Sandshrew gets bumped out of the
ground by this falling Giant so try to quickly lure it with apples to get a
    decent close-up.
    3. You can make the three Gravelers on the left bank drop down from their
perch and stomp around in circles by playing the Flute.
    4. The tip about the Stars (Starryu) is to take a focussed shot -- if u do
corectly - it will spin around in circles and follow you. Do the same for
all 3 stars and it will follow you to the whirpool. All three will emerge
from the pool Purple in colour as Starmie.
    5. Continously bomb the whirlpool to make a Dragonite fly out.
    6. On your next excursion to the whirlpool -- concentrate on the water to
the left of the whirpool with more bombs. 3 Dratinis (blue eels) will jump
    out of the waters.
    7. At the whirlpool, knock the Magikarp flopping on the land back into the
water by throwing apples at it. A Gyrados will then eat it!

    THE SPECIAL STAGE :  MEW!!

    General

Progress Type : Once you clear the Rapids level you will be told of the
Pokemon Signs. It is now that a new sub menu will open under the POKEMON
REPORT SCREEN. Find the 6 Pokemon images in the shadows of each level  to
get to this stage. There is 1 pokemon image per environment. You can only
get here once you have all the items ie. apples, smoke-bomb, flute and the
    Dash Engine.

Where to find the 6 signs

    Beach
After passing the first Pikachu on your right , look to your left and you
will see a mossy rock structure which resembles like two curling palms and a
head. Focus the middle and take many many shots. Although there are no
animals in sight you will find that you can still focus and the subject will
be labelled as "New". Get the photo graded and it will automatically be
    matched to the Pokemon Signs.

    Tunnel
Lure the second Pikachu to move forwards towards the egg by using apples.
When he gets close enough play the flute and Pikachu's electrical frenzy
will hatch the egg. The bird will then fly to the contraption to trigger the
projector mechanism. In the next room after passing the two tigers you
will see a projection  against the  rock wall. Take the photo of the image
    and get it graded!!

    Lava Pit
Ignore the horses and throw smoke bombs into the volcano pit on the left.
When done correctly, the wisp of smoke that comes out is the Third Pokemon
    Sign!

    River
Just above the dancing mushroom on your right you will see a tree
overlooking it. Look closely and you will find that the tree resembles the
face of another Pokemon. Snap! Snap! Snap!

    Ice Cave
Locate the third Jigglypuff that is being chased by a Koffing. You should
see something sparkling where they are take the photo. Lots! It should
develop into a ghostly image of another Pokemon!

    Rapids
When u start the level just look forward. In  the distance you will see
the 3 huge rock structures resembling the faces of  more  Pokemons.

That's it! This will open the Final Stage where you can take photos of the
    elusive Mew!!!
